About this product
Cold ground pulls heat out of you faster than cold air, and this OGERY pad is built to stop that. It carries an R-value of 9.0 from a multi-layer reflective insulation structure, and OGERY designs it for four-season camping, winter backpacking, snow camping and alpine trips.
Support and size
Air cells 4.7" deep keep you well off rocks and roots and support side, back and combination sleepers. Inflated, it measures 70.8" × 24" × 4.7", and it is rated for up to 200 kg. That's shorter and narrower than OGERY's 79" comfort pads, so taller sleepers should check the length against their height.
Light enough to carry
The pad weighs about 2.5 lb and folds down to about 8.3" × 5.5", small enough to strap to a pack or slip into a bikepacking bag. It inflates with the included pump bag, which is faster than breath and keeps moisture out of the pad, so the insulation keeps working night after night. An airtight valve holds the air, and a carry bag comes in the box.
Material
The shell is abrasion-resistant 40D nylon with a TPU coating.
Who it suits
Winter campers, backpackers and anyone sleeping on snow or frozen ground. For mild summer nights and car camping, the Ultralight 6" Inflating Pad gives more thickness, a built-in pillow and a foot pump.
Getting the most warmth
A warm pad works with your sleeping bag, not instead of it, so pair it with a bag rated for the night. Use the pump bag rather than your breath: breath carries moisture into the pad, and damp insulation loses warmth on cold nights. On snow, a closed-cell foam mat underneath adds a little more R-value and protects the pad from sharp ice.
Care
Dry the pad before you store it, and keep it unrolled or loosely rolled with the valve open between trips so the insulation layers aren't crushed for months.
