OGERY Sleeping Pads Compared

OGERY makes five sleeping pads, and they fall into three families: a thin foam pad you inflate with a sack, thick foam-and-air pads for car camping, and air pads that pack small. Pick the family first, then the pad.

| Pad | Type | Thickness | R-value | Inflation | Weight | Packed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Foam Camping Mattress | Foam + air | 1.6 in (41 mm) | 5 | Pump sack | Not given | Rolls small |
| 3" Memory Foam Self-Inflating Pad | Foam + air | 3 in (76 mm) | 5 | Self-inflates, foot pump to top up | About 6 lb (2.7 kg) | About 27.6 × 8 in (701 × 203 mm) |
| 3.15" Foam Pad + Electric Pump | Foam + air | 3.15 in (80 mm) | 6.0 | Built-in electric pump | Two figures given, see below | Not given |
| Ultralight 6" Inflating Pad | Air | 6 in (152 mm) | 4.5 | Built-in foot pump | About 2.4 lb (1.1 kg) | About 5.9 × 5.9 × 11 in (150 × 150 × 279 mm) |
| R-Value 9.0 Insulated Pad | Insulated air | 4.7 in (119 mm) | 9.0 | Pump bag | About 2.5 lb (1.1 kg) | About 8.3 × 5.5 in (211 × 140 mm) |
OGERY lists two different weights for the 3.15" pad, so we've left it out of the table. If weight matters, check the option you pick before ordering.
Winter and snow: R-Value 9.0
Cold ground pulls heat out of you faster than cold air does, and R-value measures how well a pad stops that. At 9.0, the insulated pad is OGERY's warmest by a wide margin, built for four-season camping and snow. It measures 70.8 × 24 in (1,798 × 610 mm) inflated and is rated to 200 kg (441 lb). That's shorter and narrower than OGERY's 79 in comfort pads, so taller sleepers should measure themselves against it.
Use the pump bag rather than your breath. Breath carries moisture into the pad, and damp insulation loses warmth.
Backpacking and festivals: Ultralight 6"
The thickest pad in the range is also one of the lightest. It's 79 × 27.5 × 6 in (2,007 × 699 × 152 mm) with a built-in pillow and a foot pump, so there's nothing extra to carry. Side snaps join two into a double. At R-value 4.5, it's a three-season pad. Our 6" Ultralight review goes through who it suits, and 6" pad vs R-9 pad compares it with the winter pad.
Car camping: the foam pads
Foam-and-air pads are quieter and steadier than air pads. No crinkle, no bounce when your partner rolls over.
- 3" Memory Foam Self-Inflating: open the valve and it fills itself, then top it up with the foot pump. Heavier and bulkier, so it lives in the trunk.
- 3.15" Foam Pad + Electric Pump: press a button to inflate and deflate. It has a raised built-in pillow and is rated to 600 lb (272 kg). R-6.0, the warmest of the foam pads.
- Foam Camping Mattress (1.6"): the slim one. It rolls up small enough for a tent trip, with a pump sack, straps and a repair kit in the bag. A 26.7 in (678 mm) width gives more room than many standard pads.

- Snow, or nights below freezing: R-Value 9.0.

R-value is explained in more depth in our R-value guide, and thickness against packed size in self-inflating pad thickness.
