OGERY Camping String Lights Instructions: From the Box to Packing Up

OGERY Camping String Lights 32.8FT

The OGERY Camping String Lights 32.8FT look like a small round lantern until you pull out the string. Inside that base are 32.8 ft (10m) of lights, a camping light, a work light and a flashlight, all running off one 2000mAh battery. If the manual's gone missing or the remote has you guessing, here's the walkthrough in the order you'll use it.

1. Charge it first

  • Plug the included cable into the USB-C port. OGERY suggests the included cable for the best charging results, though its site says a power bank, car charger or wall adapter all work.
  • While it charges, the power indicator flashes blue.
  • On charging time, OGERY's site says about 2 to 3 hours for a full charge, and the product page says about 5. Give it the longer window the first time, and you'll learn how long yours actually takes.

There's no power bank output, so it can't top up your phone. The battery is for the lights only.

2. Hang the base

The base has a hanging hook and a magnetic back. Hook it on a tent loop or branch, or stick it to anything metal, like a car door or an RV panel. Put it where you can reach it, because the flashlight modes are on the base itself.

3. Unwind the string

Pull the string out and run it where you want light: along guy lines, the edge of an awning, a tent's ridge or a patio rail. It runs to 32.8 ft, but you don't have to pull out the whole length. Strung along guy lines, it also makes them easier to see after dark, so fewer people trip on them.

4. Pick a mode

There are eight: five lighting modes plus three flashlight modes. The remote switches between them from across the site. Runtimes are OGERY's figures for a full charge.

Mode What it lights Runtime on a full charge
Warm string lights String only, warm glow About 6 hours
RGB alternating flash String, color flash About 6 hours
RGB breathing String, slow color fade About 12 hours
Camping light + string lights Base light and string together About 3.5 hours
Camping glare light Base light on its own About 8 hours
Strong Flashlight Not given
Weak Flashlight Not given
SOS Flashlight, signal pattern Not given

Overall, OGERY puts a full charge at 5 to 12 hours depending on the mode. For a long evening of ambient light, RGB breathing lasts longest. If you need to cook or find things, base-plus-string is the brightest but drains fastest, so switch back to warm string once you're done.

5. Weather

The body is ABS and PC and IPX4 splash-proof, so dew and a light shower are fine. OGERY recommends bringing it inside during heavy downpours.

6. Wind it back up

The base has a wind-up handle. Turn it and the whole string coils back inside in about 30 seconds, with no knots to pick apart in the morning. Wipe the string dry first if it's been out in the damp. The string can't be replaced separately, so don't yank it free of snags; unhook it and wind.

OGERY lists the unit at 7.4 oz, so it rides in a backpack pocket.

If you want one bright light over the picnic table instead, our guide to how many lumens a camping lantern needs explains what to look for, and OGERY Camping Lanterns has the options. All string lights are on OGERY Camping String Lights.
